HOUSTON -

One man is dead after a robbery at a northwest Houston home, according to police.

Houston police said officers responded to a robbery call Monday morning at a house in the 4900 block of Weeping Willow near Magnum.

Upon arrival, officers found a man, identified Wednesday as 26-year-old Amides Artiga, who had been shot and killed.

Family members told Local 2 Artiga was shot in front of his mother and a teenager during the robbery.

The man who works across the street told Local 2 around around 8 a.m. he and his employees saw two men dressed in black jump the fence and run into the house.

The called 911 and reported the robbery.

A few minutes later, the man said he saw the suspects run out of the house with bags in their hands. They ran towards a dark-colored sedan, either a Crown Victoria or a Chevy Malibu, was waiting for them.

After the suspects drove off, the employees from across the street ran to the house. A woman and young man came out yelling "they shot him."

At some point the Artiga's mother fell in front of the house. She was taken to Northwest Memorial Hospital with an arm injury.

Houston police said their investigation is ongoing. At this point, no one is in custody.
