Man shot, killed in restaurant parking lot

Shooter left scene before police arrived

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway after a body was found in a Southwest Houston parking lot.

It happened Sunday morning around 3:30 a.m. at the Taqueria Cancun on South Gessner Road and southwest Freeway.

According to police, the altercation started between a group of men and a father with his two daughters inside of the restaurant..

Officers say the fight escalated after a comment was  made about one of the daughters.

Security kicked the men out of the restaurant and the argument continued in the parking lot.

One of the men then grabbed an gun and opened fire, shooting and killing the father.

The men then fled in a Black Chrysler 300 before police arrived.
