HOUSTON -

Police are searching for the man who they said shot and killed his roommate at a southwest Houston apartment complex  Wednesday morning.

Investigators said the victim was walking to the Carlisle Apartment complex, located near Forum Park Drive near Bissonnett, around 1 a.m., when he was shot in the head.

Investigators believe the victim got into a fight with his roommate who then shot him.

Police said the victim managed to stumble about 50 yards before he collapsed on the street. The gunman took off.

Neighbors told Local 2  they woke up at the sound of the commotion.

"I just walked out here and realized I couldn't go through so I'm going back," said neighbor Willie Johnson. "I don't even know what happened."

Deshon Manley said he heard the gunshot.

"All I heard was the gun shot, and now he's in a better place," Manley said.

Meanwhile, crime scene investigators were collecting as much information and evidence at the scene.

Police said they are still trying to figure out what sparked the argument between the two men.
