HOUSTON -

A homeowner shot a man breaking into his southeast Houston house, according to HPD.

Police said the home invader broke in at midnight on Saturday at a home on Tolman and Frey.

Police said the homeowner heard the man and grabbed his gun.

According to reports, he shot the home invader several times in the back. The injured man was taken to the hospital in serious condition and is expected to survive.

The case is being referred to a grand jury for any possible charges.
