Man shoots at Midtown nightclub, crashes while trying to get away

HOUSTON
Friday around 11 p.m. there were reports of a man driving a Dodge Charger and shooting at a Midtown nightclub, according to Houston police.

Officers said, no one was hurt in the shooting, but many people did see the description of the car as it drove away.

A Harris County deputy driving a prisoner van near the nightclub with no prisoners in the van at the time was waved down and pointed in the direction of the Dodge by people who saw the incident. The deputy caught up to the Dodge and a small chase took place before the deputy lost sight of the Dodge, according to Harris County deputies.

Shortly after the chase, a Metro officer told the deputy he found the Dodge car crashed on Fannin near a Metro Rail line, according to Metro police

Harris County deputies said the Dodge had been traveling over 90 mph before it hit a curb and lost control.

A man who was driving the Dodge was taken to the hospital in critical condition and his female passenger was not hurt, according investigators.
