MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A man has been sentenced to prison time for selling fake Justin Bieber tickets.
Robert Grusczynski pleaded guilty Thursday to forgery. He will spend eight years in prison.
Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said Grusczynski advertised tickets to Bieber's Oct. 30 concert on Craigslist, using the pseudonym of Michael Miller.
"He sold the same seats, that didn't exist, to five separate people," Assistant District Attorney Rob Freyer said.
Yajaira Covarrubias said she paid Grusczynski $300 for two tickets, which were supposed to be a surprise for his daughter.
"I don't see how he can live with himself, breaking little girls' hearts," she said.
None of the victims were in court on Thursday, but the judge told Grusczynski that they had saved up their hard-earned money just to shatter their dreams. The judge said he would have sentenced Grusczynski to more than eight years if he had not reached a plea deal.
Grusczynski has a criminal history. He has served two prison terms in Florida.
"Check fraud, counterfeiting, theft … you name it," Freyer said.
