HOUSTON -

A Houston man has been sentenced for his role in an altercation with police in outside a night club 2012.

A jury convicted Jayson Ezell Brown, 30, of interference with the duties of a public servant and resisting arrest on Jan. 8.

Brown was sentenced to one-year probation on Feb. 6.

According to prosecutors, two officers were working an extra security job at M Lounge on Kensington Drive in Sugar Land on Oct. 14, 2012.

A sergeant tried to contain an intoxicated person who was disturbing other guests when he was confronted by Brown, police say.

Investigators say Brown pushed one of the officers off of the intoxicated person while he was handcuffing him.

The other officer came over to help, and that's when police say Brown began using profanities and threatened to beat both officers up, while actively resisting arrest.

With the assistance of a third officer, he was controlled and arrested.

Brown must also pay a $200 fine, attend anger management classes and perform 24 hours of community service during his probation.
