Police: Man robs Subway, gets away with only a couple of bucks

BAYTOWN, Texas – A man who robbed a Subway restaurant, but only got away with a couple bucks from the tip jar, according to police.

A man wearing a gray hoodie and a bandanna around his face demanded money from two Subway employees at gunpoint at 8:50 p.m Monday in the 2700 block of North Alexander, police said.

Multiple employees in the back of the restaurant who saw the robbery locked an employee office with cash inside and left out a back door of the restaurant, according to police.

The robber made his way to the employee office. When he saw that it was locked, he ran to the front of the store  grabbed money from the tip jar and fled, police said.

There was no vehicle description, but Baytown police said they are actively looking for the robber.
