HOUSTON - Police are investigating what caused a man to crash his vehicle in northwest Houston.

Investigators said the man was driving southbound on North Durham just before 1 a.m. Tuesday when he lost control and crashed into the tree.

The car flipped on its roof after the impact, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters had to cut the driver out of the car. He was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Officials say the driver also took out a fire hydrant, which flooded the street.
