HOUSTON -

DeAundre Hamilton still can't believe what happened to him when he got off work late one night earlier this week.

Hamilton, who works at McDonald's, didn't have a key to his father's condo at 10110 Forum West Drive, so he was waiting outside for his father to come home.

The 18-year-old says he was on the phone with his girlfriend and when he looked up, he says there was a man holding a gun and yelling at him.

"He approached me and he's like: 'I've been living here 25 years and I've never seen you here, you don't live here'," Hamilton said.

HPD has identified the man as Daniel Edward Andrews, a resident who lives in the complex.

Hamilton says Andrews kept cursing at him, so he got out his cell phone and started recording video of the incident.

In the video you can hear Andrews allegedly accuse Hamilton of doing a drug deal. Andrews also allegedly tells Hamilton to get out of the complex.

"It frightened me," Hamilton said. "I thought it was the end."

Hamilton says Andrews never pointed the gun directly at him, but he says he waved it in his direction.

Hamilton called 911. When officers arrived, Hamilton says Andrews started apologizing to him, but Hamilton says by then it was too late.

"I couldn't accept it because it's not right for somebody to approach a person like that," Hamilton said.

Officers arrested Andrews on charges of disorderly conduct. He is currently in jail on $500 bond.

Hamilton says Andrews should face more than just a misdemeanor charge. A spokesperson at the Harris County District Attorney's Office says they are always willing to consider upgrading the charges if new information becomes available.
