A man was taken into custody after leading police on a slow-speed chase through southwest Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers received a call around 11:15 p.m. from a witness saying they observed an intoxicated driver on South Main and South Loop Street.
Police found the driver and attempted to pull him over, but he refused to stop.
The driver then led police on a chase down Fondren Road.
At some point during the chase, police deployed spike strips and punctured both of the vehicle's front tires.
Police say the driver managed to pull into the Fondren Inn where he had a room, and was taken into custody.
Officials say the man faces charges of driving while intoxicated and felony evading.
