SUGAR LAND, Texas -

A man was killed in a shootout with Sugar Land police Wednesday night.

According to reports, the man called 911 from a home on Timber View Drive around 9 p.m., threatening to kill himself unless police showed up.

When officers arrived, police said the man pointed a gun at them.

Officers opened fire, hitting and killing the man.

No officers were injured.

The suspect's identity wasn't immediately released.
