HIGHLANDS – A man is hospitalized and his shooter is on the run after a comment about the man's wife sparked a violent argument.

The suspect then got into a heated argument with the husband and at some point told the husband that he could take better care of his wife than the husband.

That is when the husband grabbed the alleged shooter's arm and told him to leave his property.

Deputies say that while the husband was escorting the suspect off the property, he pulled out a gun and shot the husband in the stomach.

The suspect then fled the scene.

The husband was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive.

Both the husband and wife know who the suspect is and Harris County deputies believe they will find him fairly quickly.
