HOUSTON -

No charges are expected after a driver hit and killed a man in southwest Houston.

It happened Saturday around 10:00 p.m. near the intersection of Bissonnet Street and Forum Park Drive.

Investigators arrived and found an injured man on the ground outside of the crosswalk.

According to police, a woman was driving a pickup truck with her son in the passenger seat when she ran into the man as he was walking across Bissonnet.

Police say the driver was not intoxicated and not believed to have been speeding. 

The 47-year-old man was transported by ambulance to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Police say the female driver was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released without charges.
