HOUSTON – All northbound lanes of Interstate 45 at N. Main were shut down following an horrific accident Sunday afternoon.
Police said a man was hit by a METRO bus and at least 4 other cars as he was walking along the freeway. Police said the man's vehicle came to a stop in the center lane of traffic and he was hit after he got out of his car. Police do not yet know why the man's car came to a stop.

Northbound traffic was backed up for hours as METRO police officers conducted an investigation.
"It's scary how something like this can happen in the blink of an eye," said Regina Smith, who was caught for several hours in the traffic back up.
