HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A man and a woman are suspected of arson and insurance fraud stemming from a house fire last March 24.

Daniel Friedman told investigators that he and his girlfriend, Makenzie McCollister, set fire to his Spring home at 9700 Old Timber Lane with the intention of filing an insurance claim.

"The Harris County Fire Marshal's Office was able to determine the fire was intentionally set," said Capt. Dean Hensley. "After months of investigations and a multitude of interviews, investigators obtained enough information to file charges."

McCollister's arson and fraud charges are pending. She is currently in prison on unrelated charges.
