HOUSTON -

Police are searching for a suspect after a man was found shot to death in his apartment in southwest Houston.

Police responded to reports of a shooting around 8:35 p.m. Saturday at the Crescent Place Apartments on South Gessner.

According to police, an unknown number of people forced their way into one of the units, got into a struggle with the 32-year-old tenant and shot him to death in a bedroom.

Houston police believe the victim was shot earlier in the day between 3 and 5 a.m.

Police said evidence inside the apartment indicated there were signs of a struggle.

The victim's identity was not immediately released.

With regards to identifying any possible suspects, police said they have little information, and they are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crime to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

No motive for the shooting has been established.
