HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department is investigating the cause of a man's death after his body was found in Buffalo Bayou.
The man has been identified as Walter Burks, 43. Police say his cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Burks' body was found in the water near Franklin Street by a cyclist Saturday morning, according to officials.
Burks' body was badly decomposed and had been there for several days, according to authorities.
HPD is asking anyone with information about the case or Burks' whereabouts in recent days to call the homicide division at 713-308-3600.
