Man found dead in northeast Houston intersection

HOUSTON – A man was shot to death in northeast Houston on Friday and area residents said they're tired of violence in their neighborhood.

Houston police said the 38-year-old man's body was found at the intersection of Hondo and Comal about 4:30 a.m. His name has not been released.

Residents said the gunshots woke them up.

"Evidently, someone had to ride by and shoot him. I heard a car and I heard the gunshot," resident Curtis Dockery said. "It's scary. They could have rode by and shot through my house."

Residents said gunshots are not unusual in the area.

"It's sad because this has been going on for quite a while," Dockery said.

Police said they found some evidence near the body that they hope will lead them to the shooter.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
