Man driving stolen car leads police on chase in SW Houston, authorities say

HOUSTON – A man driving a stolen vehicle refused to stop Friday morning for police in southwest Houston, police said.

Officers attempted to pull over a car that fit the description of a vehicle related to an armed robbery on Wednesday.

The man driving the car refused to stop after police attempted to pull him over around 1 a.m. Friday, officers said.

The high-speed chase began at Vinedale Drive and Kirkwood Road and ended on Longbrook Drive in front of the home of the man’s girlfriend, who was in the passenger seat during the chase, according to officers.

A friend of the man was sitting in the back seat during the chase.

Police said they questioned the girlfriend and the friend, and neither one knew that the man driving a stolen car.

The driver was taken into custody and faces charges of felony evading arrest and armed robbery, according to authorities.

Authorities said they found a gun in the car.
