HOUSTON – Police are investigating a deadly wrong-way crash from early Sunday morning.
It happened just after 6:10 a.m. on the North Loop East lanes near the East Freeway.

Houston police say a 61-year-old man was backing up his Hummer H3 in the wrong direction when he was hit by an 18-wheeler traveling southbound.
Officials say the Hummer then crashed into the concrete barrier dividing the lanes.
Police say the driver of the tractor-trailor stayed at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.
The victim was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
His name was not immediately released pending family notification.
