HOUSTON – A man was found shot outside a southwest Houston motel.
Houston police said a couple walking outside the Plainfield Inn on Plainfield near Bissonnet about 5:30 a.m. found the man on the side of the road.

The man, who police said suffered a gunshot wound to the head, was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been released.
"This is a high-drug infested area," Officer P. Vela said. "You have a hotel right behind us, a restaurant right there ... a number of things could have happened here."
Police have not released information about possible suspects, but they said a nearby storage facility has surveillance cameras that may have recorded video that can help them.
