Man dies after crash through fence, house

Police: Driver killed on impact

HOUSTON – A man died after investigators said he crashed his pickup truck through a southeast Houston fence.

Around 5 a.m. Sunday, police said a 51-year-old man was driving his truck south on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Bungalow when for some reason he veered off the road and slammed through a privacy fence.

Police said he then veered back across the road and into another yard where he crashed into a parked vehicle, then a house before finally coming to a stop.

Investigators said it was the crash through the fence that killed him.

"Some of the pieces of wood from the fence came through the windshield and killed the driver," said Sargent Kerry Shaw with the Houston Police Department.

Investigators said they don't believe alcohol was involved. The victim's name hasn't been released.
