HOUSTON – A man is dead after being stabbed in an apartment parking lot in north Harris County.
The stabbing happened Sunday night at a complex at 5301 N. Sam Houston Parkway East near Vickery Drive.
According to deputies, Calvin Washington, 25, was found stabbed in the street. Investigators said they believe Antonio McGee, 21, stabbed him over a dispute involving a woman.
Washington was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital Northeast where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said Washington and his new girlfriend went to a restaurant earlier Sunday and were spotted by her ex-boyfriend, McGee.
McGee then followed the pair to the woman's house, where the two men began to fight.
According to investigators, McGee stabbed Washington, then fled the scene. Sheriff's deputies said they were able to find him and take him into custody.
Deputies said McGee told them he stabbed Washington in self-defense.
Murder charges are pending against McGee.
