HOUSTON -

A man was crushed to death by a forklift at a northwest Houston business, police said.

Just after 11:30 p.m. Monday, investigators were alerted about the accident.

It happened at Madden Bolt Galvanizing on Hempstead Highway and Fairbanks.

Houston police said Marco Aurelio Rodriguez, 33, was driving the forklift and taking a metal bin to dump it in the trash. The forklift then hit a drainage ditch and fell over. Rodriguez was tossed and the forklift landed on him.

Rodriguez, 33, died at the scene

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is expected to investigate this incident.
