A Fort Bend County jury has convicted a man of driving while intoxicated.

Keith Edward Zahradnik, 39, was arrested in December 2011 in the town square area by Sugar Land police.

According to investigators, Zahradnik was pulled over around 2 a.m. after leaving Baker Street Pub. He had driven across all four lanes of Highway 6, and nearly hit the concrete median, authorities said.

The arresting officer said Zahradnik had slurred speech, red glassy eyes and smelled of alcohol.

Zahradnik also refused to provide a breath or blood sample, said police.

Zahradnik was charged with driving while intoxicated, a class B misdemeanor.

He was convicted on April 3, and sentenced to a 12-month probation including a $500 fine, 40 hours of community service and DWI education classes.

He must also attend a victim impact panel and weekly AA meetings for the first half of his probation.
