Man charged with murder in case of woman's body found burned

HOUSTON – A man is facing charges in the death of a woman whose burned body was found last year.

Reginald Pinckney is accused in the killing of 31-year-old Crystal Shavonne Sam. Police say in the early morning hours of May, 26, 2013, a man walking home from work saw a brush fire at 3500 Texas Avenue and called 911. The Houston Fire Department responded and firefighters found a burned body within the area of the fire.

According to Houston police, further investigation identified Pinckney as the suspect in the case and he was charged for his role in Sam's death.

Pinckney, 30, is charged with capital murder.
