A man has been charged in a deadly shooting outside of a Houston night club earlier this month.
Daniel J. Silva is charged with murder. Silva, 24, accused in the killing of Angel Celso Reyes, 39, and causing injuries to a second male, Josue Garza, 31.
On May 9, Houston police say Reyes and Silva got into an argument in the parking lot of Club Sofia at 1325 Sheffield Boulevard, but were then separated. Silva then got into his four-door, dark blue Honda Accord or Civic and accelerated toward Reyes and Garza, police say. Garza was struck by the vehicle, which continued driving and struck Reyes.
Police say Silva exited his vehicle and again exchanged words with Reyes. Silva then produced a gun, shot Reyes more than once and immediately fled the scene, investigators say.
Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene and Garza was transported to an area hospital with a broken arm.
According to police, further investigation led to the identity of Silva as the suspect in this case. Silva was arrested last May 22 and Houston police say he confessed to his role in the shooting.
