Man charged for stabbing, setting dog on fire

HARRIS COUNTY – A man has been charged for setting a dog on fire earlier this month.

Officials said the dog was found on July 13 at the intersection of Ella Crossing and Burnell Oaks in north Harris County.

Authorities said a necropsy performed at the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory found the dog had been stabbed multiple times before it was set on fire.

Jacob Davis, 27, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with felony animal cruelty.

Authorities said this was a joint investigation by the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office, the Houston SPCA and the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
