MCSO: Hydroponic marijuana grow, marijuana extraction lab found

MAGNOLIA, Texas – A man has been arrested after marijuana and other narcotics were found by authorities in Magnolia, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said.

A search warrant was served Wednesday at a residence in the 14900 block of Saint James Place. The Sheriff's Office said it was obtained after probable cause was established from information gathered regarding the sales and use of marijuana and other illegal narcotics at the residence.

A hydroponic marijuana grow containing 50 plants and a marijuana extraction lab were found at the residence, according to the Sheriff's Office. The Sheriff's Office said an extraction lab is used to extract the THC-tetrahydrocannabinol from marijuana plant material, and it is utilized to make butter, wax, or shatter.

Also found were just over 15 pounds of dried marijuana, 185 grams of marijuana extract inside 37 vials to be used inside vapor pens, 2,191 grams of marijuana extract in the form of butter and shatter and 31 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, the Sheriff's Office said.

Three packages of marijuana-infused edibles in the form of cookies and three packages of marijuana-infused gummy bears were also found by authorities. The Sheriff's Office said the infused edibles and the butter/wax are being used by teenagers and young adults, as well as the vapor pen inserts.

The Sheriff's Office said $59,000 in U.S. currency was seized from a suspect.

One person, identified as David Yeoward, 45, has been arrested at this time as a result of the investigation. The Sheriff's Office said Yeoward has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (Felony 1) and possession of marijuana (Felony 3).
