HOUSTON - A man accused of drunken driving has been charged after a fatal wreck on a Southwest Freeway service road.
It happened just before 3 a.m. Sunday in the 5900 block of the Southwest Freeway service road.
Houston police said 24-year-old Christopher Cavazos was driving a white Nissan Altima outbound on the Southwest Freeway service road when he ran the red light at the Hillcroft intersection and hit three vehicles.
Officials said a woman sitting in the backseat of one of the vehicles died at the scene. Her name has not yet been released.
Cavazos was taken into custody and charged with intoxication manslaughter.
