A Florida man is on probation after calling dispatchers nearly 3,000 times in a year and a half, even though he didn't need help.

Tampa, Fla., resident Keith Lukas called the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's non-emergency line 2,927 times between May 2012 and December 2013, according to a press release from the Sheriff's Office.

On the calls, Lukas complained about past treatment from the Sheriff's Office, frequently using vulgar language and treating dispatchers poorly, according to the release. If a dispatcher hung up after determining he didn't need help, Lukas often called back multiple times.

HCSO filed a complaint against Lukas for repeated harassing phone calls, and Lukas pleaded no contest to the complaint in late February, according to the Sheriff's Office. He was sentenced to probation and may not contact the Sheriff's Office unless he has a legitimate need.
