Man arrested in triple killing after concert

Feanyichi Ezekwesi Uvukansi charged with capital murder

HOUSTON – A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting after a rap concert that left three people dead.

Feanyichi Ezekwesi Uvukansi, 24, has been charged with capital murder.

About 2,000 people gathered at Hottyz gentlemen's club on Westpark Drive and Ace Street to see Houston rapper Trae early on June 20. When the concert finished, hundreds were in the parking lot when someone started shooting shortly after 3:15 a.m.

Detectives said it appeared the gunman fired in one direction, spraying the crowd with 20 bullets.

Four men and a woman were hit.

Coy Thompson, 23, Erica Rochelle Dotson, 30, and Carlos Dorsey, 31, were killed.

Trae and another man were taken to the hospital. Trae was shot in the shoulder and was treated and released from Ben Taub Hospital. He is expected to recover.

A motive for the shooting has not been released, but police said Thompson may have been the target and the other victims were caught in the crossfire.

At the time of the shooting, Uvukansi was out on bond on charges of retaliation and possession of marijuana.

Uvukansi's criminal record dates back to 2008 and includes charges of attacking a public servant.
