HOUSTON -

Houston police have arrested the suspected gunman who shot fatally shot one man and wounded another outside a strip center in northeast Houston back in September.

Gustavo Rojo, 30, was arrested and charged with murder.

Rojo is accused of killing Hernan Hernandez, 24, of Houston. A second male victim, 30, was transported to an area hospital with a non life-threatening wound to the arm.

Police said the shooting happened at 4005 Hollister about 9:20 p.m. on September 9.

According to investigators, Hernandez and the surviving victim were among a group of people in the parking lot of the strip center when a fight broke out between several people. Police said believe Rojo was one of the men fighting. Investigators said, during the altercation, Rojo produced a gun and fired several times at another man. The shots missed Rojo's intended target and instead struck the two bystanders. Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD said Rojo was arrested on April 22 without incident.
