According to the affidavit the couple told Castle Hills police that they quit their jobs at the Taipei restaurant on the morning of June 11. They said they returned that evening to the business in the 2200 block of Northwest Military Highway, to collect their final pay.

The woman told police that while she was talking to Lin's wife, Lin began yelling at her and her husband to leave the business and attempted to push her toward the door. The affidavit says the woman's husband and Lin began to fight, then Lin went into the kitchen and grabbed two knives, which he began swinging wildly.

The woman suffered a serious cut to her hand, and her husband was cut on the arm and hand, the affidavit says.

Police said Lin's wife later showed up at a local hospital seeking treatment for her 2-year-old son. According to the affidavit, the toddler also had suffered a cut which police believe was caused by a knife.

The affidavit says Lin told investigators that the male victim had attacked him first, threatening him with a knife. However, police said that was not consistent with a statement that they obtained from a witness.

Police said the witness told them that Lin's wife was holding the child when she intervened in the knife attack. The affidavit says investigators believe that Lin cut his own son.

Lin was booked into the Bexar County Jail on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
