Man arrested, charged in fatal shooting at SW Houston apartment

HPD: 1 dead, 1 hurt after thief shoots, steals resident's car

HOUSTON – A man is in custody and charged in the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a woman at a southwest Houston apartment.

Davion Ross, 22, is charged with murder.

According to police, they responded to a shooting call Thursday at an apartment complex in the 10600 block of Beechnut around 9:15 p.m.

Investigators said Ross was visiting 26-year-old Kensley Paul and a 19-year-old woman when he pulled out a gun and shot both victims.

Paul, also known as "Chi" or "Chicago," died at the scene. The woman was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in an unknown condition.

The gunman fled in Paul's white 2013 Ford Focus.
Ross was taken into custody on Tuesday without incident by members of the Coast Violent Offenders Task Force
