Officials said Martinez walked the hallways at Stephen F. Austin High School, 1700 Dumble Street, at 12:45 p.m. on Feb. 4 when he asked a female student for directions to the office. He then grabbed her around the waist and started kissing her mouth and neck, police said. The girl was able to break free briefly but was then pinned against a wall, investigators said. The girl escaped a second time and the suspect ran off.

Two days later, police said Martinez was near the school when he made advances on a student walking to the campus. Police said he fondled her and shouted out, "Hey girl, you want to go with me."

The suspect was caught on surveillance video inside Austin High School. HISD increased patrols in the area.

HISD officials said tips from the public led police to Martinez. He was arrested without incident on Tuesday.

Austin High School officials said they continue to have added security measures to ensure the safety of all students on campus.
