HOUSTON -

A man who led police on a chase Friday morning is in custody.

Sky 2 flew over the scene as the man was being arrested in southeast Houston around 9 a.m.

Police say they tried to pull over a suspicious vehicle when the man took off and refused to stop.

Officials say the man eventually pulled over at Clinton near Caroline and ditched his car.

Police say the man took off running because he had drug paraphernalia on him. At the same time, officials say he was calling a woman who lived in the area.

The man was eventually caught by police and faces an evading arrest charge.

Police say the woman showed up at the scene and is accused of trying to help the man hide out to avoid being arrested. She faces a charge of interfering with a police investigating.
