HOUSTON – Sheriff's deputies tracked down a man accused in a reported assault Monday night, after realizing they had already dealt with him earlier in the evening.
Investigators said Roberto Mateo grabbed a woman who was walking her dog on Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands.
The victim told deputies Mateo groped her and tried to force her into her apartment. She managed to break free, and immediately reported the incident to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
When the woman told deputies about her attacker, officials recognized her description of the man's clothing and body type. They traced the description to Mateo, whom they had already detained earlier on Monday.
Deputies located him at a different apartment in the complex, and arrested him for aggravated kidnapping.
