HOUSTON -

A man is behind bars after police say they caught him breaking into a store in northwest Houston.

Houston police received an alarm call around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Dollar General on Antoine and West Little York Road.

Several units quickly arrived and saw that someone had smashed in the front glass of the store.

Shortly after, police said a man walked out the front of the store with a sack full of merchandise from the store.

According to police, the man was not aware that officers were there.

Officers confiscated the bag and found sunglasses, cologne, toothpaste and several other items.

The man was arrested by police.
