Man armed with pistol robs northeast Houston restaurant

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department and Crime Stoppers are searching for man accused of robbing a northeast Houston restaurant.

Investigators said that on Sept. 20, a man armed with a pistol walked into a restaurant in the 3000 block of Collingsworth Street and pointed the weapon at the employees.

The man demanded their belongings, jumped over the counter and tried to open the safe, according to police.

Investigators said the robber then forced all the employees into a large, walk-in freezer and stole an unknown amount of money from the cash registers before leaving.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the man’s arrest.
