HOUSTON – The man accused of killing a pregnant woman and assaulting her boyfriend appeared in court on Monday on new charges.
Jeffree Burks is charged with aggravated assault stemming from an incident that left Amber Flores, 19, dead and her boyfriend injured.
A judge granted Burks a $100,000 bond for the aggravated assault charge.
In February, Flores was shot and killed on Van Fleet Street in southeast Houston.
Burks had already been charged with capital murder in her death, and was being held on a $700,000 bond.
