Man accused of stealing 75 saw blades from Houston home improvement store

HOUSTON – Investigators are looking for a man who is accused of stealing 75 saw blades from a home improvement store in Houston, officials said Monday.

The blades are worth $1,050, according to a news release from Crime Stoppers, in conjunction with the Houston Police Department's Burglary and Theft Division.

Larry Wayne Hines, who is considered a fugitive, has an extensive criminal history, investigators said. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information that leads to Hines’ arrest.

Hines, 50, is most recently sought in the felony theft case out of Harris County, which took place March 15. Loss-prevention workers at the store, in the 13400 block of Market Street, said they saw Hines passing the saw blades through a fence in the garden section. He was committing the crime with a woman, officials said.

Hines was known to the loss-prevention employees. Surveillance cameras also captured images of Hines inside the store.

Hines is known to drive a white Ford Crown Victoria.

People with information on the suspect are encouraged to call 713-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online. Tips may also be sent via a text message by texting the following: TIP610 plus the information to CRIMES (274637).

All tipsters will remain anonymous.
