Man accused of shooting cat with pellet gun

HOUSTON - A Houston man faced a judge Tuesday after allegedly torturing an animal.

Mark Mathis was arrested June 2 and charged with felony cruelty to non-livestock animals.

Mathis, 34, is accused of shooting a pellet gun that hit a cat's tail.

His bail is set at $30,000.
