HOUSTON – A man has been accused of raping a 16-year-old girl.
Mark Maurice Jones, 38, has been charged with sexual assault of a child.

Houston police said Jones approached the girl as she was walking home from a basketball court in the 3100 block of Crestdale in June 2010.
Jones asked the girl if she had a boyfriend and she said she did, police said.
Investigators said Jones followed the girl through an apartment complex and checked for unlocked doors. When he found one, he took the girl into the unit and sexually assaulted the girl, detectives said.
Detectives said DNA taken from the girl's body during a medical exam shortly after the incident matched Jones' DNA.
According to court documents, Jones admitted to having sex with the girl.
Jones is being held at the Harris County Jail without bond.
