Man accused of punching, threatening deputy constable

HOUSTON – A man was arrested Sunday after he punched and threatened a deputy constable who was trying to arrest him, authorities said.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman, authorities were called to a home in 19800 block of Kenswick Drive because of a family disturbance. When they arrived, they found Zachary Lester, 17, involved in a fight with a family member.

Herman said that as a deputy constable tried to take Lester into custody, Lester punched the deputy in the face three times. He said that as Lester was being taken to a patrol car, he threatened to kill the deputy the next time he saw him.

Lester was charged with assault on a public servant and retaliation.
