Man accused of possessing child porn, explosives appears in court

HOUSTON – The man accused of having child pornography on his phone and homemade explosive devices in his residence faced a judge Friday morning.

Joshua Bishnow, 25, is facing three counts of possession of child porn and one count of possession of a prohibited weapon.

Harris County deputies made the discovery Wednesday while searching Bishnow's house on Haywood Oaks Drive near Barker Cypress and Tuckerton during a search warrant for child porn.

A judge Friday issued bail conditions for Bishnow.

"He's not allowed to go around children. He's not allowed to possess explosive devices. In addition, he's not allowed to go on the internet. And other standard kinds of conditions would include not using any drugs and being randomly tested," prosecutor Steven Driver said.

The child pornography investigation began June 15 after court documents say Bishnow dropped off his iPhone at an Office Depot store on the Northwest Freeway to have a cracked screen repaired. Store employees said they found images of child porn on the phone.

Investigators said they flagged 867 images on Bishnow's phone, including at least three graphic photos of child pornography.

Bishnow is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $65,000 bond.
