Man accused of posing as a police officer at a ballroom

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - A Houston-area man is wanted after investigators say he posed as a police officer.

According to court documents, Cameron Barela, 26, was terminated by the Flatonia Police Department on April 18, 2013, but identified himself as an officer on June 8, 2013, while working a security job at the My Dream Ballroom on East Mount Houston Road and Connor Street in Harris County.

Investigators said Barela was employed by the ballroom under the impression he worked full-time as a peace officer.

Barela is charged with impersonating a public servant.

At last check, he was not in custody.
