Man accused of killing neighbor indicted on murder charge; victim's husband speaks

HOUSTON – Hector Campos was indicted by a grand jury Tuesday on a felony murder charge in the shooting death of a neighbor.

Campos walked into District Court 339 Wednesday as the victim's family watched and followed behind him.

Investigators said he shot and killed his neighbor, 53-year-old Anna Weed outside her Spring home in January.

Investigators said there had been ongoing dispute between the neighbors.

Weed's family believes Campos was angry because Weed helped his wife return to Mexico after what they believed to be an abusive relationship.

Weed's husband says he will support his wife.

"I'm just here today to support my wife. I don't want her to be forgotten," Weed's husband, Scott Weed, said. "We just, we want justice. He murdered my wife."

Scott also said it's been very difficult because Campos still lives next door to him. He said that he is in fear and that no one should live like that.

Campos has said that he feared for his life during the incident that led to the shooting.

Campos' hearing was reset and it could be reset multiple times before both sides are ready for trial.
