SWAT units respond after woman claims brother threatened her

HOUSTON – Houston police are questioning the claims of a woman, who told officers her brother was threatening her Saturday evening.

According to investigators, police were called to the woman's home in Southwest Harris County about 6:30 p.m. Officers said the woman told police her brother was threatening her, and claiming he would shoot any officers who showed up at the house on Clarke Springs Drive near Reddy Lane.

When police arrived, they tried to make contact with the residents inside. SWAT teams were called to the scene after officers failed to speak with the occupants

About 11:30 p.m., a SWAT unit finally convinced the man and woman to leave the home. At that time, investigators said officers realized that the supposed suspect did not have a weapon.

According to police, the woman's description of her brother was also inaccurate. Officials believe she may have also fabricated claims about threats to her safety.
